Characteristics

Crimson King forms a pyramid shaped crown, and can be planted in most locations. It is wind and heat tolerant.

The Crimson King is a beautiful 5 lobed shiny purple-leaved tree that can grow to 15 metres tall when mature. It has smooth dark-grey bark and forms a broad conical crown.

With the exception of peaty soil, the Crimson King tree can be planted all soil substrates. They can successfully be planted as avenue and street trees in industrial locations.

Yellow flowers appear in April before leave shoot. Fruit is brown winged nutlets. Leaf autumn colour is orange.
