Characteristics

Silver lime is a fast-growing deciduous tree with heart shaped leaves, strongly scented flowers and yellow autumn leaf colour.

The silver lime is an impressive fast-growing deciduous tree that reaches up to 25m tall and 20m in spread when mature.

The crown is dense, conical to begin then becoming round with age. The leaves are heart shaped matt green in colour with a white tomentose under side. Strongly scented yellow pendulous flowers appear in July. Autumn leaf colour is yellow.

Due to its ability to tolerate urban pollution, the silver lime is a valuable tree for city planting and industrial areas.
