Prefer moist, sandy, loamy soils, neutral to strong alkaline.
Location
Likes warmth, sun to slight shade, frost hardy but sensitive to wind.

Prunus avium – 15-20m.
Flowers
White flowers in clusters appear in April.
Foliage
Deciduous broadly elliptical dark green leaves. Beautiful yellow to orange-red autumn colouring.
Fruits
Round, dark-red, edible cherries.
Roots
Cordate, sensitive to compaction and paving.
Bark
Brown, red with rings.
