Large Cedar Tree Planting

We had a call from a well known local garden designer, asking if we could help with unloading, handling and planting a considerable amount of large trees.

This was a large garden project just outside of Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. A local company, originally appointed to the project, were struggling to handle the large trees that had been imported from nurseries in Germany and Holland. So The Tree and Hedge Company were called upon, being experts in managing large tress of this type.

About the project

The client brief was to safely unload all of the plants without causing any damage, then plant the six articulated lorries full of very large, heavy trees. This was no simple task, but our professional teams carried out the assignment in a way that others couldn’t.

After lots of careful planning, the use of three 100-ton mobile cranes and two heavy lift telehandlers, Hortlands Nursery’s experienced tree lifting and installation team efficiently carried out and successfully completed the safe unloading, handling and planting of all the large trees on this project. After carrying out such a successful job, the team were then asked to remain on site to help with all the smaller semi mature trees and topiaries. These were much easier to handle, but some expertise were still much appreciated.

Following on from this our parent company, Hortlands, were contracted and continue to carry out the high specification garden maintenance for the property owner.
