The London plane is a majestic, fast-growing, native deciduous tree successfully used for extensive city centre planting in places like London and Paris. London plane trees take well to cutting and can be planted in restrictive spaces and easily kept pruned to fit. If left to grow naturally, the mature size of London plane trees is 20-30 metres tall and 15-25 metres wide.

London plane trees are impressive when left to grow naturally, but can be hard pruned to shape like umbrella, table tops or round crowns.

London plane trees can be left alone or topiarised.
