Having recently had an old cherry tree die and have to be removed, our customer called us and asked for a good-sized tree replacement of the same species or one of our own recommendations. Just so long as it had spring flowers and a good autumn changing colour of leaves.
The tree was being planted in a small, arrow-head shaped border next to the entrance to his driveway. He also requested that it had no lower branches that would prevent access to his postbox.
We offered several tree options and he decided on a Callery pear tree. An ornamental pear tree producing masses of scented blossom in the spring, followed by shiny green oval leaves throughout summer, and late into the autumn they turn shades of beautiful crimson-red, orange and yellow before falling.
We supplied and planted a clear-stem semi-mature tree and the client was delighted with the results.
