The common walnut is a medium to large, slow growing tree valued for its delicious walnut fruits. The common walnut usually matures at 15 to 20 metres in height and 8 to 10 metres wide. The broad round crown has strong, wide-spreading main branches and the light-grey coloured bark on the trunk of the tree is deeply vertically grooved.
