native mixture hedge

Native hedges are and can be successfully planted in fields, paddocks and gardens all across the United Kingdom. These hedges are made by planting together, side by side mixtures of native fruiting and flowering plants.

These hedges provide valuable food and protection to our native birds and a hidden world of small creatures and wildlife.

As well as being beneficial to our wildlife, for us humans as spring arrives, the native hedge bursts into life creating truly beautiful hedges with visual interest right through to the end of autumn. Producing flowers, catkins, seeds, fruits and nuts.

Tip: If you have the space and can withstand leaving the hedge in a slightly overgrown and untidy state, pruning alternate years will maximise the flowering and fruiting production.

There are many native plants suitable to make up these hedges and mixtures can be chosen to establish and flourish in most locations.

Popular mixtures are available already made up into instant hedges.
Our own native mixture instant hedge consists of hazel, hawthorn, dogwood, blackthorn and buckthorn.

We provide full planting services for Native Mixture Hedges which includes supply, delivery and installation. Contact us today for a quotation.
