A Guide to Instant Hedging Types

Hortlands Nursery stock a wide range of instant hedges and hedging plants and this guide explains more about each type of hedging.

Hedging Types

Instant Hedge

Instant hedge has a root system grown in a trough or in the ground in a root strip. Instant hedge is grown by planting younger hedging grade plants closely in a row. As the hedge matures on the nursery the plants nit together forming a dense weave of branches. With regular pruning on the nursery the plants form a squared off formal hedge shape we are all familiar with.

Instant hedge troughs or root strips can be planted end to end forming any length hedge required.
