Magnolias are fondly known for their abundant and beautiful flower displays and the evergreen grandiflora is no exception.

Soil types
Magnolias grow best on sandy, loamy soil acidic to neutral. Alkaline soils are best avoided.
Location
Full sun but a light shaded location is also possible.
Height
Can reach 15m.
Flowers
Fragrant, cup-shaped large 15-35cm creamy white flowers appear in July.
Foliage
Evergreen, oval glossy green leaves, 12-25cm long. Underside of leaf is rust-brown in colour.
Fruits
Cone-shaped, cream-brown with bright red seeds.
Roots
Fleshy roots are shallow and very sensitive to disturbance and compaction.
